Attorney Cynthia Groomes Katz is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Bar Associations of Maryland and the District of Columbia. She holds a law degree as well as a degree in international and comparative law. Ms. Groomes Katz is a fearless litigator in detention and removal proceedings, in appeals work, and in criminal immigration cases. She served as a consultant for the Criminal Defense Bar regarding the consequences of plea negotiations on immigration.
She previously served on the Board of Directors of the Center for multicultural human services and has been repeatedly recognized for her work on citizenship drives within the Korean community in the U.S. She is also a past member of the Board of Directors of the Center for Multicultural Human Services and has been repeatedly recognized for her work on citizenship drives by the League Of Korean Americans (LOKA).
